The projects will involve collaboration with many leading industry partners such as Ford, Continental, Software AG, Airbus, SIEMENS, and other universities such as Fraunhofer and Centre for Research & Technology, Hellas. This will provide you with an excellent platform for career development, with opportunities to work on innovative knowledge engineering approaches with industry leaders encompassing data curation and linking, knowledge conceptualization and reasoning, and opportunity to integration with machine learning techniques necessary to predict and managing risk. You will be working with and supported by Professor Michael Boniface and Dr Stefano Modafferi on the ZDMP, eFactory and other related projects. ZDMP and eFactory are funded by H2020, and are developing novel platforms and procedures for analysing security risks in multi-stakeholder smart manufacturing systems.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to research into knowledge modelling, reasoning, linked data, data fusion and software engineering necessary to integrate with data management/analytics platforms essential to deliver timely insight to decision makers responsible for risk management.The projects also involves developing ways to communicate potential risks to smart factory professionals, support technology acceptance experiments and trials, write project reports, and produce refereed publications and present research findings to the community and (if appropriate) the public.

To be successful you will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline. Essential skills include hands-on experience of modern knowledge modelling, data curation and processing techniques, and software engineering.

Familiarity with security risk analysis or applied research leading to real-world solutions would be an advantage but is not essential.
