Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Our client's distribution management system (DMS), PowerOn Advantage (POA), is an application designed to monitor and control the electrical distribution SCADA network. Our team offers opportunities to become an expert in many areas of the system, including graphics (schematics/one-lines), SCADA configuration, load flow/power flow analysis, general system configuration, etc.
As a DMS SCADA Analyst, you will provide professional SCADA and Control System engineering services associated with electric power, distribution network, and the Distribution Management System (POA).
Tier 1 Support:
Setup and configuration, system administration, graphical network representation, and distribution power analysis within the DMS.
Resolution of technical issues related to the integration of PowerOn Advantage ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System), PowerOn Restore (Outage Management System), and Electric Office (Geographic Information System).
Application / interface /database troubleshooting
Scripting to automate data entry, etc.
Functional support of applications within assigned business unit, including:
Provide application support by assisting experienced support staff in investigating and resolving application issues.
Assist business unit employees to define, analyze, design and document business processes and associated applications.
This position will serve as an auxiliary DMS point of contact/representative for the Ohio Distribution Dispatch Center.
Management of DMS tasks related to circuit deployment effort for client's operating companies
Internal Customer service /support for the Ohio Dispatch Center, which may include tasks related to the following:
One-line and schematic development, cleanup, and support
Processing of incremental data updates from GIS system
Alarm configuration
Troubleshooting
Leadership & Guidance
Self-starter; Takes initiative to start and complete work efforts with a sense of urgency
Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, and presents ideas clearly
Provide training/guidance to dispatch center employees and less experienced DMS employees
Clear understanding of the organizational structure with ability to track down data/information which may exist in other departments or systems is highly preferred
Must be a curious individual and have questioning attitude
Clear understanding of the function of distribution devices and how the distribution system operates
Understanding of SCADA systems
Understanding of advanced distribution system functions such Volt Var Optimization (VVO), Fault Detection, Isolation, Restoration (FDIR), Distance to Fault (DTF)
System troubleshooting and problem resolution
Maintain reliable operations of the DMS/SCADA systems
Improve and make recommendations to improve the quality and reliability of DMS/SCADA data and related services
Maintain real-time data interfaces
Develop/improve/implement DMS/ SCADA tools and software
Keep DMS/SCADA tools up-to-date with current technologies
Perform modeling, check-out and commissioning of Remote Terminal Units
Define and make recommendation to implement internal standards
PI graphics
Understanding of Geographic Information System (GIS) maps
Detailed knowledge is required in two of the following areas:
1. Application development
2. Operating System support
3. Computer system administration
4. Database technologies and support
Education / Experience:
Education: Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related Technical field or higher from an accredited college/university or high school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience.
Experience: Three years DMS/SCADA experience with Associates Degree and Five years of experience with a high school diploma. Individuals with a Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of DMS/SCADA experience may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related Technical field or higher from an accredited college/university or high school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience.
