Postdoctoral Research Assistant

Postdoctoral Research Assistant, Grade 7, (£32,817 to £40,322), 1 FTE for 18 months (extension dependent on CRUK Programme funding renewal) , commencing November 2020.

We are looking for an ambitious postdoctoral researcher to join our team on a CRUK-funded position. The goal is to examine how kinases and phosphatases work together to control chromosome segregation and protect against cancer.

Your priorities will include:

Examine the role that kinetochore phosphatases and kinases play in chromosome segregation.
Use a wide range of cell biology and biochemical approaches, including quantitative live-cell microscopy.
Work exclusively in mammalian cell types, which will be genetically modified using CRISPR/Cas9.

• Ability to work independently, but also fits in well with the rest of the team
• Endless questions are more important than endless skills. However, experience of working within the mitosis field and/or using relevant microscopy techniques would be advantageous
