Cloud Architect
Cloud Architect - Galway/Hybrid
My client, a leading global technology company based in Galway seeks to hire an experienced Cloud Architect/Master Engineer to join a new R&D team focused on Cloud native development.
This role will involve delivering a large cloud solution, using a scalable agile framework, continuous integration, continuous delivery and ground up test automation whilst working with a team of architects to define, refine, lead, architect and implement software solutions.
They would ideally be looking for someone with experience with any public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, Docker, IaC, Golang and more but are open to considering talented software professionals from different backgrounds.
What you'll do:
The team will help build a large scale, enterprise ready platform, powering a hybrid edge-to-cloud world. The platform allows some of the largest most diverse enterprises in the world to deliver with speed, agility, and scale - while keeping their data where it needs to be and ensuring their sustainability and green goals are met and exceeded.
The Cloud team offers the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience to contribute to architecting and building the platform and applications on a top distributed backend. Be part of a fast-paced development team and learn how to build solutions that make a difference.
You will implement technical solutions to meet defined requirements. You will be an advocate for continuous test maturation. Test automation (across all pipelines) and supporting the organization's CI/CD model.
The Technology:
The Cloud development team use a suite of contemporary technologies typical of any large native cloud development. Ideally, we are looking for a mix of experience in the following;
• AHA
• AWS, Azure, GCP integrating technologies and tools
• GitHub
• Jira
• Golang, Python, Linux scripting
• Kubernetes
• Docker/Docker Swarm
• Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
• Analytics tools
• AI/ML suites
What you'll need:
• Msc / Bsc. in Computer Science or equivalent
• Working knowledge of cloud native development
• 10 years + experience as a Developer/Architect in a large scale agile development environment
• System thinking skills
• Working experience with CI/CD, open source cloud development tools
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Willingness to work with teams across time zones
• An ability to consistently harness targeted value from your team
What we'd prefer you bring:
• Experience of Implementing a complex IT solution on a native cloud environment using agile processes (desirable)
