CK Group are recruiting for a Technical Research and Development Project Manager to join a manufacturing company at their site based in Doncaster on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client designs, develops, manufactures and supplies innovative, high-quality products to metal workers globally. They have an onsite R&D centre as well as multiple manufacturing facilities and an engineering workshop. Due to growth, they now have an excellent opportunity for an R&D project manager to work within their industry leading company. The R&D Project Manager will be responsible to the Technical Manager. The company offers a salary in the region of £35,000-£37,000pa depending on experience as well as 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, life assurance, on site car parking and an early finish on a Friday. This role would suit an experienced project manager who has hands-on industry experience as well as having liaised with manufacturing, finance and sales teams. The company may consider an experienced individual with similar skills who is looking to get into a project manager role.
Location:
The R&D PM will be based at the company's site in Doncaster, easily commutable from surrounding areas including Sheffield,Rotherham, Scunthorpe, Barnsley, Retford, Worksop, Pontefract.
Technical Project Manager Role:
Your main duties will be to:
- Support the development of the next generation of refractory solutions
- Manage technical projects from the laboratory scale to pilot plant schemes leading ultimately towards manufacturing integration. Life cycle management of projects
- Integrate with the colleagues to develop a full suite of refractory solutions
- Identify and implement process improvementsto ensure the maximum effectiveness of development and industrialisation of technologies
- Offering technical support to manufacturing, quality systems, internal/external product management team and clients
- Contribute to the construction, maintenance and utilization of laboratory and pilot plant facilities needed for the product/process development
- Practical problem solving of new product introductions or customer complaints
- Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of the Technical Centre and the service it provides to internal and external customers
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified or equivalent within an appropriate field; PhDconsidered
- Proven industrial experience gained in a relevant industry sector - essential
- Knowledge and experience of a production laboratory environment
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally with work - essential
- Track record of R&D project management strongly preferred
- Ideally the company is looking for someone experienced in project management who has hands-on industry experience as well as having liaised with manufacturing, finance and sales teams
- The company may consider an experienced individual with similar skills who is looking to get into a project manager role
