As an In Vivo Research Scientist in the Neuroscience Neurodegeneration group you will have the opportunity to join a vibrant scientific community at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR) and be part of our multidisciplinary team developing therapies to improve the health and quality of life for Parkinson's Disease patients. **Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** • Closely collaborating with scientists across the department to establish in vivo neurodegenerative disease models • Designing and executing pharmacology studies to advance drug discovery program candidates • Developing in vitro and ex vivo assays • Analyzing, interpreting and presenting data in a timely manner \n\n\n\n **Position Title:** Research Scientist, In Vivo Neurodegeneration **Minimum requirements:** **What you'll bring to the role:** • B.S. or M.S. degree with at least 3 years research experience (preferably in industry) related to neurodegenerative surgical models • Expertise in developing in vivo pharmacology models • Expertise in ex vivo analysis of tissues, plasma and CSF, including quantitative analysis of protein and RNA • Proficiency in routine cellular and molecular biology techniques, including qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting • Excellent lab technique with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present data and work independently • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment and possess excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral) • Commitment to achieve team deliverables and meet timelines **Additional, highly desirable requirements:** • Familiarity with Parkinson's disease models • Experience in tissue dissociation and fractionation experiments **WHY CONSIDER NOVARTIS?** 769 million lives were touched by Novartis medicines in 2020 and, whilst we're proud of this, we know there is so much more we could do to help improve and extend people's lives.
