The post holder will lead a team working closely with both internal and external key stakeholders to ensure that these ambitious projects transform the transport offer in Hertfordshire.
Purpose of the role
This post requires an enthusiastic individual to lead the development and delivery of a new generation of Highway Improvements in support of Hertfordshire's Local Transport Plan.
As the delivery lead you will proactively manage the team which sponsors the development and delivery of the Bus Priority infrastructure on the highway network and report progress to the Group Manager for Highways Implementation, Senior officers and members through the project governance process.
This role will work closely with delivery partners, colleagues in the Highways Service and local stakeholders delivering a programme of on highway improvement projects as per requirements of the Bus Service Improvement Plan and LTP4.
You will manage and build effective relationships with key internal and supply chain stakeholders to understand contractual and delivery issues, working collaboratively to implement a solution, identifying inconsistencies and good practice
Be the face of the project representing the council at public meetings relating to the development and delivery of the programme of works.

Qualifications Required:
- A recognised degree-level qualification in a relevant professional area or membership of a recognised and relevant professional body
- Ability to drive best practice to enable effective implementation of projects, dealing constructively with setbacks

- Experience of partnership working
- A clear understanding of working in a political environment
