Abstract

A fully integrated neural recording IC implements on-the-fly spike sorting and wireless telemetry for neural prostheses. Noise shaping eliminates frequent training thus enabling on-chip spike sorting. 90Mb/s UWB allows simultaneous 128 channel data transmission. The 8.8×7.2mm2 0.35μm CMOS IC dissipates 6mW from a ±1.65V supply due to the sequential turn-on architecture. ©2008 IEEE.
