Abstract

In the existing literature on CGE modelling there is still much discussion about a de¿nition and classi¿cation of CGE models. Different names like Transaction Value models, Computable General Equilibrium models, Applied General Equilibriummodels and SAMbased general equilibriummodels have been used, without giving a proper classi¿cation of models. In this paper a de¿nition and classi¿cation of CGE modelling will be given, based on the historical development of empirical CGE analysis, the chosen model speci¿cation and the determination of parameters.
