Abstract

Visualization can provide valuable assistance for data analysis. Human factors contribute significantly to the visualization process and play an important role in the design and evaluation of visualization tools. In this article, we will review some related research work in data visualization and examine some concrete examples to illustrate how to utilize common visualization techniques to make quick and better understanding of different types of biological data. Tests for evaluating the usability of some visualization techniques will also be conducted in this study in order to generalize some principles of interface design for biological data visualization tools.
