Abstract

The lab-on-a-chip concept is just beginning to be translated into useful devices. Daniel Figeys of MDS-Ocata and Devanand Pinto of the National Research Council (both in Canada) discuss some of the basic components required to construct these miniature systems and how they can be applied to multistep operations.
