Abstract

The article discusses the Canadian government's territorial claim to the Arctic region including the North Pole. Topics covered include the United Nations requirement for a country interested in extending its territory, the natural resources of the region, the countries that all have coastlines along the Arctic Ocean, and the separate claims by Russia and Denmark to the region.
