Abstract

This paper deals with the description of two dinosaur osteoderms from the Fazenda Furnas (Adamantina Formation, Upper Cretaceous of the Bauru Basin), Municipality of Jales, Sao Paulo State. Both present the diagnostic ornamentation (coarse and fibrous texture, grooves, pits and tiny projections, etc.) characteristic of the rare titanosaurid osteoderms already described. However, the presence of a articular facet of dorsoventrally oriented lamelae can be indicative that some titanosaurids may bear small dermic plates composed by two or more articulating osteoderms, or these specimen belonged to a different dinosaur to which osteoderms have not been described.
