Abstract

The flux of dissolved nutrients between a lagoon patch reef community in the Abrolhos Islands and the overlying water was monitored throughout 24-hour periods in both summer and late winter. The different patterns observed are described and their significance in monitoring the degree of eutrophication of aquatic communities considered.
