Abstract

The research aimed to develop dialogue and collective thinking skills among sixth-grade primary school students, and to determine the effectiveness of a program based on Tokkatsu activities in developing these skills. The research followed the experimental approach based on a quasi-experimental design with a one- group, which numbered (40) sixth-grade students in Al-Ahiaa primary school; To achieve the goal of the research, a list of dialogue skills was prepared that included 25 skills, and a list of collective thinking skills was prepared that consisted of 16 skills, a dialogue skills test, a dialogue skills observation card, and a collective thinking skills s cale, a program was also built based on Tokatsu activities. Which included: a book for the student and a guide for the teacher. The results of the research proved that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students in the research group in the pre- post- testing of the dialogue skills favoring the post-testing , with a large effect size of (7.83). It also indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students in the research group in the pre- post-measurements of the collective thinking skills scale was in favor of the post-measurement, with a large effect size of (16.46), and the research results revealed a positive correlation between the scores of the research group on the dialogue skills test and their scores on the collective thinking skills scale. The research recommended the need for Arabic language teachers to give attention to developing the dialogue and collective thinking skills of their students, by using the activities (Tokkatsu).
