Abstract

The technology of accurate fault location in medium-voltage distribution network has great significance for reducing power outage time and interruption frequency in power system, and improving power supply reliability. The wide application of synchrophasor measurement technology has laid the foundation for accurate location of faults in distribution networks. The studies of the accurate fault location methods in medium-voltage distribution network based on synchrophasor measurement unit for distribution network (D-PMU) are analyzed and prospected. Based on analyzing the current situation of fault location technology of medium-voltage distribution network, the opportunities and challenges faced by the current accurate fault location of the distribution network are expounded, and the preconditions for realizing accurate fault location are put forward. On this basis, aiming at the main scientific issues of the research on accurate fault location of medium-voltage distribution network, the research contents to be focused on are proposed, and the relevant research ideas and technical paths are elaborated.
