Alpha-2 adrenergic agonists for the prevention of shivering following general anaesthesia

Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of α-2 agonists on the prevention of shivering and subsequent complications after general anaesthesia in surgical patients; also to assess the effects of α-2 agonists on the risk of inadvertent perioperative hypothermia (IPH) and to assess whether any adverse effects are associated with these interventions.
