Clinical update on the use of mesenchymal stem cells in equine orthopaedics

Abstract

Stem cells have received much attention in recent times because of their potential to improve healing of othropaedic problems. This manuscript presents the genesis, issues and current state of stem cell treatment in equine medicine. Current literature supports the use of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for treatment of orthopaedic problems. © 2009 EVJ Ltd.
