Abstract

Pheochromocytoma is well known as "10% disease" but relatively rare neoplasm. We presented CT, MRI and 123I-MIBG scintigraphy findings of histologically diagnosed extra-adrenal pheochromocytoma in the retroperitoneal region of a 25-year-old female. Early and prolonged contrast enhancement with partial filling defects was seen in the tumor on dynamic CT and MR images. 123I-MIBG scintigraphy showed increased uptake of the tracer in the tumor. Relatively high apparent diffusion coeffient value (1.97×10-3mm2/sec) of the tumor reflected proliferated vessels and cystic degeneration of the tumor.
