Covalently capped seed-mediated growth: A unique approach toward hierarchical growth of gold nanocrystals

Abstract

Hierarchical metal nanostructures have attracted increasing interest due to their unique morphology-dependent properties. Here, we introduce a new and efficient method to synthesize hierarchical gold nanostructures in different shapes using the covalently capped seed-mediated growth approach. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2014.
