Abstract
The taxonomic treatment of the Begoniaceae from Bahia state is presented. We recognize 38 species, 15 are endemic and four were firstly described based on this study. Most of the species occur in the Atlantic Forest (32 species), followed by the Caatinga (11 species) and Cerrado (one species). Nine names are treated as synonym for the first time here. Descriptions, identification key, phenological data, illustrations, maps of geographical distribution in Bahia and comments are presented.
