Abstract

The subjects of this study include patients with ski or snowboard-related injuries seeking treatment from the Ishiuchimaruyama Medical Clinic affiliated with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Showa University. Ski-related injuries are often comparable while snowboarding injuries vary since each snowboarder has his/her own snowboarding style. It has recently become apparent that intermediate level snowboarders usually sustain injuries resulting from a jump while beginners fall when they catch the downhill edge of the board on a gentle slope.
