KOMITMEN BRAZIL DALAM MENDORONG PERDAGANGAN AGRIKULTUR GLOBAL GUNA MENJAGA KETERSEDIAAN PASOKAN PANGAN DIMASA PANDEMI

Abstract

The whole world is undergoing significant changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The nation- state simultaneously carries out the same policy to handle this kind of disaster: lockdown and confiscation of domestic and foreign mobility. However, this policy had a negative impact, especially on the global economy and trade sectors. By using a qualitative descriptive method and using the frame of liberalism, Brazil is trying to encourage global trade which is found to be carrying out trade protectionism by the idea fulfilling the needs will only be achieved if the market is opened freely and not restricted. This is mainly driven by the agricultural sector, which has an important position in maintaining the global food supply during the pandemic.
