Abstract

Patient education is an important component in the management of chronic diseases. However, you need well-trained staff with skills for training. It has to be mentioned, that patient education requires human and time resources. The financial aspect should not be underestimated (space, staff, material, etc.). If the resources are not available, for example micro-education can help to teach parents the bare necessities. In surgeries micro-education can also be delegated to staff members who are familiar the subject, so that the doctor does not have to do it himself. Another option in practice is to join forces with other departments or surgeries and try to train the patients together.
