Through this text, David Ricardo opens a discussion about the ideas of Thomas Malthus on the theories of the capital increase and the type of profits, applied to the economic processes in agriculture and to the context of Great Britain of 1814-1815 regarding the economic policies that were being carried out to regulate the grain trade. In this way, he reflects on the relationships and dynamics between capital and profits.
