Recent advancements in smart attendance system

Abstract

Everyday technology is improving human lives in one way or the other. Educational instates are also improving their mechanism to better help the experience of teachers and students. Attendance is one of the important aspect in every institution. Therefore, the present article investigated various technologies and software that are utilized in the smart attendance system. The review explores different technologies such as RFID, OR code, Face recognition and software including OpenCV, MatLab etc. that are being presently used to develop such system. Their advantages, disadvantages and usefulness are discussed and important aspects are highlighted in the article
