Abstract

This work studies 42 texts that regulate collection management in Spanish university libraries. Collection management is described in a general way, as it is in the documents. The focus is on the structure and contents of the documents, the aim of the collection management plans, and their concept and objectives. Subsequently, this study details how the selection procedure is presented as the first part of the investigation that will be completed in future works that will deal with other aspects of management. © 2013 CSIC.
