Eficiência dos gastos públicos municipais em saúde: uma análise utilizando o método DEA em dois estágios

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the efficiency of municipal public spending on health in Rio Grande do Sul. To do so, we use the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method with bias correction using Bootstrap and socioeconomic variables, in accordance with Simar and Wilson (2007). The data were obtained from DATASUS and the Atlas do Desenvolvimento Humano. Considering the results obtained with the conventional DEA method, 19 municipalities were effective. After the application of the bias correction, only one municipality remained efficient. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
