Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder affecting women of reproductive age, characterized by irregular menstrual cycles, hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovaries. Beyond reproductive health, PCOS is associated with metabolic conditions such as obesity, insulin resistance, and an increased risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Effective management of PCOS relies heavily on lifestyle modifications, including proper nutrition, regular physical activity, and stress anagement, which have been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, aid in weight control, and restore hormonal balance. Despite its high prevalence, awareness about PCOS among women and healthcare providers remains inadequate, leading to delayed diagnosis and suboptimal care. This review explores the critical role of lifestyle interventions in managing PCOS symptoms, highlights the current gaps in awareness, and underscores the importance of early diagnosis, education, and support networks in improving the overall well-being of women affected by PCOS.
