Abstract

Presents the background and planning for Leg 81, summarising the operational and interpretive procedures. The principal results for all Sites and Holes are given with details on the collection of survey and drilling data and of the drilling characteristics and disturbances. The standard shipboard scientific procedures are given for: the numbering of sites, holes, cores and samples; core handling; measurement of physical property data and its presentation; quantitative sedimentologic analysis; biostratigraphic analyses; and, classification of igneous rocks. -E.Hayes
