Abstract

Effects of severe frosts of the winter of 1981-82 on Laminaria digitata (L.) populations in southwest Scotland are reported. In addition, some inferences are drawn with respect to possible effects of low temperature on vertical distributions of the macroalga Bifurcaria bifurcata (Stack L.) and the anemone Anemonia vin'dis (Forskal).
