Abstract

Semiconductor technology is quite complex. It involves several areas of engineering and electronics with robotic and automated processes, with considerable embedded design and technology requiring advanced knowledge of employees and human resources. Mastering semiconductor technology is essential in directing the future development trends of a country in areas such as, smart cities, the internet of things, and space exploration. In this paper, we present the growing global revenue of the semiconductor industry within the last 21 years. We also highlight the importance of mastering semiconductor production technology and its implications for the development of a nation.
