The treatment of those patients that have no therapeutic possibilities, is not curative anymore and becomes palliative, being the relief of pain one of its major goals. The purpose of this work was to quantify and qualify the terminal patients hospitalized in HURNP and to evaluate the satisfaction level of those patients and their families in relation to analgesia. The results of the research show the need for the creation of a palliative care service, with a group of specialized professionals, in the institution which is being studied, aiming at increasing the quality of assistance to the patients and their relatives.
