Abstract

The Comibaenini are reviewed and their characters are assessed. Eight genera are included in the tribe, with one new genus and 11 new species described. Descriptions and diagnoses of the genera and diagnoses for species are provided. All Chinese species of Comibaena fall into four species groups on the basis of the morphology of the male genitalia. The synonymic relationship between Chlorochromodes and Comostolodes is discussed, and the statuses of all the related species are revised. Three new synonyms are established. Moths of all species are illustrated in colour and genitalia figures are provided. © 2012 The Linnean Society of London, Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, 2012, 165, 723-772. © 2012 The Linnean Society of London.
