Abstract

A literary criticism is presented of the book "The Soldier and the State: The Theory and Politics of Civil-Military Relations," by Samuel P. Huntington. It discusses the theme of U.S. civil-military relations throughout the book. The book's discussion of military professionalism, which includes the general's role as being politically neutral, is presented.
