Abstract

Abstrak: Plastik menyumbang 17% dari produksi sampah serta menempati urutan ketiga penyumbang sampah terbesar TPA Kota Balikpapan, setelah kertas, sisa makanan dan sampah rumah tangga lainnya. Sampah plastik sangat sulit dimusnahkan, sehingga mengakibatkan penuhnya lahan penampungan sampah (landfill). Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi penerapan teknologi pirolisis sampah plastik menjadi bahan bakar. Diharapkan wawasan masyarakat tentang teknologi pirolis sampah plastik juga semakin terbuka seiring dengan issu pemindahan Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) dengan merujuk kota Balikpapan menjadi kota layak huni dan berwawasan lingkungan. Edukasi ini dikemas dalam bentuk sosialisasi dan demonstrasi alat pirolisis secara langsung dengan dihadiri 32 warga masyarakat Giri Mulyo RT 24. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan perhitungan hasil kuisioner kepuasan masyarakat terhadap pelaksanaan program kegiatan. Dari hasil evaluasi kuisioner diperoleh bahwa peningkatan wawasan warga tentang edukasi pirolisis sampah plastik baik sebesar 90% dengan indeks capaian tertinggi sebesar 96,3% dari warga memberikan respon positif pada survey akses kemudahan dalam memperoleh bahan baku sampah plastik. Sedangkan indeks capaian terendah sebesar 57,8% dari warga menilai bahwa teknologi pirolisis sampah plastik masih sulit untuk dikembangkan dan diterapkan secara massal.Abstract:  The third highest contributor to garbage in Balikpapan City TPA, behind paper, food waste, and other home waste, is plastic, which accounts for 17% of waste production. Due to how challenging it is to destroy plastic garbage, landfills are frequently filled. By using pyrolysis technology to convert plastic trash into fuel, this program aims to educate the communities. The subject of moving the National Capital (IKN) is becoming more widely discussed, and Balikpapan is being referred to as a living and environmentally friendly city, which has increased public awareness of pyrolysis technology for plastic waste. There are 32 participants from Giri Mulyo from RT 24 joined in this program, which was done as a direct socialization and demonstration. From the questionnaire evaluation, it was found that the knowledge of Giri Mulyo residents was increase regarding plastic waste pyrolysis education was good by 90% with the highest achievement index being 96.3% of residents giving positive responses to the survey on easy access to obtaining plastic waste raw materials. Meanwhile, the lowest achievement index was 57.8% of residents who considered that plastic waste pyrolysis technology was still difficult to develop on a large community.
