Abstract

By lucky chance, there exists in Entlebuch, in the canton of Lucerne, a rich collection of photographs valuable for forest history. Modern photos are presented opposite the historical images to show the development of forests over the last 100 years. Intensive study of these photos has led the author to interesting discoveries. For this reason, he encourages today's practising foresters to document their own experiences in connection with the forest, for example through photographs.
