Abstract

In the 2 patients examined with multi and single unit recordings the authors have revealed no signs of increased dynamic spindle sensitivity in the spastic muscles; thus it is concluded that the exaggerated dynamic stretch reflexes in these muscles were due to some sort of central hypersensitivity to the spindle inflow. As regards the static spindle sensitivity in the spastic muscles the multi unit recordings revealed no abnormality and the single unit samples showed only some small, insignificant differences as compared with the controls.
