Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the implementation of distributed generation with renewable energy sources in the Portoviejo parish, Ecuador. To fulfill this purpose, a bibliographic review of works published in reliable databases was carried out, a qualitative methodology and the technique of content analysis of the sources consulted were applied. SE took into account criteria of relevance, pertinence, contributions and year of publication between 2018 and 2022; however, works from years prior to those mentioned were included, given the significant contributions to this study. The results obtained indicated that distributed generation is an energy saving process, a strategy considered in the planning of the Ecuadorian electricity sector that provides benefits to the environment as it allows the use of clean energy, it is a tool for continuous improvement for the generation, distribution and energy quality, it was also obtained that the implementation of distributed generation with renewable energy sources in the Portoviejo parish is perfectly viable and feasible to use, it only requires adequate planning and investment, which contributes positively in the process. improvement of the energy service of the locality.
