Abstract
Objective: Explore the perception of young Mexican adults with celiac disease about their lifestyle. Methodo: Qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study, seven young adults with celiac disease participated, to whom, prior informed consent, semi-structured interviews were applied through videoconferences in the months of January and February 2023. The data were interpreted through content analysis. Results: There are factors that influence the lifestyle of young adults such as seeking medical care and feeling of dissatisfaction; insufficient family support; restricted and high-cost diet; stress and anxiety caused by the limitations of celiac disease. Conclusions: The identified factors can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle in the participants.
