Abstract

Applications of remote sensing have proven, over the last several decades, to have tremendous benefit to society – increasing our prosperity and making us more secure. The need for such applications is only accelerating as we transform from an industrial society to one that is information-driven. Advances across all areas of remote sensing, as well as the enabling computing and information technologies, ensure that emerging applications of remote sensing will be increasingly important to society’s progress.
