Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:The objectives of this review are:1. To assess the effectiveness of interventions designed to improve the uptake of an initial (first-time) FOBT by those regarded to be at average risk of colorectal cancer.2. To assess the effectiveness of interventions undertaken to improve adherence to repeat (serial) FOBT screening by those regarded to be at average risk of colorectal cancer. The term "average risk" applies to persons without a predisposition to the disease, whose only risk factor is that their age is greater than 50 years.
