Kielland (Rotational) forceps can be applied to the fetal head in parallel with the sagittal suture (cephalic adaptation), and it has the following structural features: 1. the blades do not have the curve characteristic of Naegele forceps and 2. the lock has a sliding function to make joining of the blades relatively simple and to facilitate traction.
