This study aims to understand the perception of the operational managers of the Department of Information Technology (ITS) of TRE/SC over the impacts created in the internal working processes of the body after the implementation of best practices in IT governance. In methodological terms, it is a descriptive-evaluative study case of a qualitative approach concerning the characteristics and way of investigation. As a result, it was identified that by March 2013, there were implemented eight of the 24 cases of IT governance processes based on Cobit model, Version 4.1, defined as the goal of Strategic IT Planning for 2013 model. It was concluded that the perception of managers is positive in relation to IT governance, although there are some flaws, as in the communication within and between areas, and in the centralization of information by some sectors.
