Abstract

The use of environmental management tools as a method to support decision making is becoming very used in Brazil, especially those tools that supports the recommendation of activities that are practical, logical and consistent to be executed for the establishment of crops, prevention and control of its diseases. In that context, highlights the importance of the development of soil and climatic zoning of agricultural and forestry crops. This paper presents the delimitation of regions that presents different climactic suitability for the growth of the rubber tree, in order to avoid the occurrence of South American leaf blight disease, at Espírito Santo. GIS tools associated with a methodology that allows the pixel to pixel calculation of the water balance elements were used. Results showed that 27.45% of the Espírito Santo area are totally suitable to rubber tree cultivation with low risk of disease occurrence.
