Abstract

Issues such as the plight of the migrant workers, rising unemployment, domestic violence, violation of human rights, and poverty came to be reported daily during the pandemic with mounting challenges faced by the government in every sector. In these circumstances, the NGOs were working relentlessly in various capacities. This chapter looks into the media reports and certain primary narratives from the NGOs working on the ground to analyse their role during the pandemic. It further elucidates the coping strategies of the NGOs in the face of paucity of funds and human resources. The chapter examines the shift in the working and nature of interventions of the NGOs.
