Abstract

Recent studies have revealed unexpected subunit diversity and specificity in the general transcription machinery for orchestrating multicellular differentiation. In this issue of Developmental Cell, Oyama etal. (2013) report a requirement for Taspase 1-dependent TFIIA proteolytic processing in the mouse testis to enable TRF2 targeting to genes regulating spermatogenic differentiation. © 2013 Elsevier Inc.
