Abstract

In this paper, parallel computation of three-dimensional incompressible flows driven by moving multiple bodies is presented using a new moving embedded zonal grid method. Moving embedded zonal grid method is the method such that the embedded zonal grid can move freely in one direction in a main grid which covers the whole of the flow field. The feature of the method is to satisfy both geometric and physical conservation laws simultaneously. The method is applied to a flow driven by two cubes moving in the originally stationary fluid. The computation was performed using multi-core CPUs and the parallel algorithm has been implemented in the Poisson solver and the performance has been tested. © 2010 Springer.
