Abstract

This short review focuses on presenting recent findings on Ni-based catalysts for the plasma-induced catalytic CO2 methanation process. After a brief introduction presenting the advantages of plasma CO2 methanation compared with the thermocatalytic approach, a discussion is given on different types of plasma used with nickel-based catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation. The use of different supports and promoters in Ni-based catalysts for plasma dielectric-barrier discharge catalysis CO2 methanation is discussed. The present study focuses on presenting past, present and future prospects on nickel-catalysed plasma-assisted CO2 methanation reaction.
