Abstract

Drugs are often used in combination to achieve a desired therapeutic goal. The concomitant use of drugs may lead to drug-drug interactions (DDIs), which may cause undesired effects in patients. Healthcare professionals should be provided with necessary information about potential drug-drug interaction (pDDIs). The article reviews recent work done on pDDIs, especially in patients with different age groups and co-existing disease conditions. The article also focuses on strategies for the detection of pDDIs and provides information about utilization of these strategies for their prevention.
